As some of you may know, I worked at a juice bar in Columbus. Since leaving Columbus, I have not had many juice or smoothies. The other day I was not wanting coffee, but still wanting to get out of the house to do some work. So I decided to try out Juiceland.

Juiceland is a chain with locations in Austin, Dallas, and Houston. I went to the location on Brodie Lane. They serve what you would expect at a juice bar. They have cold pressed juice, smoothies, plant based food and more. I had a hard time deciding what to get because their menu is so large. And there are so many good options.
The employees greeted me right away and made me feel welcome. I took a while to figure out what I wanted. The employees helped guide me and told me some of the best sellers. They also mentioned that they have a smoothie of the day. The smoothie of the day comes at a discounted price. Ultimately you get a medium sized smoothie for the price of a small. Unfortunately that day I did not get the smoothie of the day, but it was worth it to pay full price.

Finally after much contemplation, and realizing I would have lots of chances to come back and try more, I decided on the Moontower. It is a chocolate banana smoothie with almond milk and a couple other things. The woman helping me at the counter said that people like this smoothie with peanut butter. Despite this she said I should try it at least once without the peanut butter. I did as she suggested and got it without the peanut butter.
I sat down in the shop and checked the place out a bit more while waiting for my smoothie. It is honestly another one of those places that just feels so Austin. It is a bit quirky, not everything matches, and not everything is uniform. Although this is the case it all really works well together. Instead of tables and chairs they have picnic tables. They also had lots of games including a couple old arcade games. It really feels like a fun place to hang out and enjoy one of the many delicious menu items.

I was very happy with my smoothie decision. It was so good, it almost reminded me of a chocolate shake. It was thick, creamy, and chocolatey. Unfortunately it was gone all too soon. The only thing I was disappointed about was they put a straw in it before giving it to me. I had my reusable straw and would have liked to have used it.
I have since been back, and got the same smoothie with the peanut butter. Personally I liked it better without the peanut butter. The peanut butter did not add anything special for me, and it costs extra. Next time I need to make sure to try something new though. That will be hard for me, because I do really enjoy the Moontower smoothie.

After going twice in a matter of a week I decided to go ahead and buy a reusable smoothie cup from them. They sell reusable smoothie cups and when you bring it in you get a discounted price. It cost $15 and you get $0.50 off when using it. I was happy with my smoothies both times, and the one location is close to me so I thought it was a good investment. I am excited to be able to go back and get some waste free smoothies or juice. And best of all I can use it when I make smoothies at home too!
